With "Als ein Brandopfer" (German for "As a Burnt Offering"), Total Dissolution delivers an autobiographical work that peeks into the cult that shaped his childhood and youth. This album features private recordings from his personal archive, containing convention talks about the importance of obedience, the agitation of children and teenagers for missionary purposes, and parental intervention in sex education.
Sonically, Total Dissolution offers 25 minutes of rhythmically structured noise and industrial that evokes the numbing sensation of the cult's recurring services and conventions. Just as the organization’s ever repeating indoctrination, the six sound collages of this album will guide their listener toward a state of numbness and dissociation, slowly but surely.
